Renovation Electricians in Bacchus Marsh, Melton and Surrounding Areas
Get your electrician in before the renovation starts. For a kitchen, the electrical side runs in three stages: the disconnect (about one to two hours), the pre-wire (about four to eight hours), then the install once the cabinets, plaster and paint are done.
Renovating is the perfect time to upgrade the electrical side of your home. Whether you're renovating a kitchen, bathroom, laundry or the entire house, we handle everything from pre wiring and new circuits through to lighting, powerpoints, appliances and the final installation of all electrical equipment. We work alongside builders, cabinet makers and other trades every day to help keep renovations running smoothly, finished neatly and completed to a high standard the first time.

Why It Matters
The Best Time To Upgrade Your Home Electrically
Renovations are usually the best opportunity you'll ever get to upgrade the electrical side of your home.
Once the walls and ceilings are open, it's the perfect time to finally add all the things you've wanted for years. Extra powerpoints, downlights, pendant lights, LED strip lighting, heated towel rails, ceiling fans, TV points, appliance upgrades and more.
We specialise in renovation electrical work and handle the entire process from start to finish. Everything is planned out beforehand, measurements are taken, photos are kept throughout the job, and we create our own electrical plans so everything ends up exactly where it should.
We also don't rely on other trades to run cables or guess locations. We handle the whole electrical side ourselves so the renovation runs smoothly and there's no surprises later on.
What We Do
The Electrical Process of a Renovation
Whether it's a bathroom renovation, kitchen renovation or a full home rebuild, we handle the electrical process from start to finish and coordinate everything around the renovation timeline.
Electrical Disconnect
The first stage is usually disconnecting existing electrical so demolition can begin safely. This can include disconnecting kitchens, lighting, appliances, powerpoints and circuits before walls, ceilings or cabinets are removed.
Planning Stage
We'll walk through the renovation with you and discuss exactly what you want to achieve. We can offer ideas, recommendations and different options so everything is planned before work begins.
Pre Wiring
Once the renovation is ready, we pre wire the entire area. This includes running new circuits, lighting cables, appliance wiring, data cabling and anything else required for the renovation.
Documentation
Throughout the renovation, we document everything with photos, electrical plans and marked up layouts so every cable and installation location is recorded clearly.
Installation Stage
Once plaster, paint, cabinetry and finishes are completed, we return to install all electrical equipment including lighting, powerpoints, appliances, LED strip lighting, heated towel rails and more.
Testing and Certification
Once the installation is complete, we carry out mandatory electrical testing, check every circuit thoroughly and lodge the Certificate of Electrical Safety for the renovation work completed.

Renovation Electrical Questions
The earlier the better. Ideally, before the renovation starts so we can plan everything out, get dates booked in, work in with your builder or trades, and help you figure out exactly what you want to achieve. A big part of renovations is planning. Powerpoints, lighting, appliances, LED strips, heated towel rails, data points, switchboard upgrades, smoke alarms, there's a lot to think about. The earlier we're involved, the smoother the whole renovation runs.
Yes. We work directly with builders and other trades all the time. We do a lot of kitchen renovations, bathroom renovations and full house renovations, so we're very used to working in with builders, plasterers, cabinet makers, tilers and painters. We're organised, easy to deal with, and keep the electrical side moving without holding anyone up.
It depends on the age and condition of your current switchboard and what's being added during the renovation. This is something we'll discuss during the planning stage. Some homes are completely fine as they are, while others may need upgrades depending on the new appliances, circuits or electrical load being added.
Yes. With major renovations, older houses often need smoke alarms brought up to current regulations. This is all covered during the planning process. We look over everything from top to bottom so nothing gets missed. We do renovations every day, so you're in good hands.
It depends on the size of the renovation and what's being completed. Using a kitchen renovation as an example, the first stage is usually the electrical disconnect, which generally takes one to two hours. The next stage is the electrical pre wire, where we run new cabling, new circuits, appliance wiring, LED strip lighting and anything else required. Depending on the scope, this stage is generally around four to eight hours. The final stage is the installation stage once cabinets, plaster and painting are completed. This is where we install appliances, powerpoints, lighting, switches, pendants, LED strips and complete all final testing. This stage is usually the majority of a day. Most kitchen renovations are generally completed across three visits: electrical disconnect, electrical pre wire, final installation and testing. Full house renovations follow the same process, just on a bigger scale. Bathroom renovations are similar, just smaller and quicker.
Yes. Any electrical work we complete comes with a Certificate of Electrical Safety. This gets lodged on the same day the work is completed, as required by law.
Yes. We can help with lighting ideas and recommendations. Pendant lights, LED strip lighting, feature lighting, downlights, under cabinet lighting, heated towel rails and more. We'll work in with you to help design something that suits the renovation and the overall look you're trying to achieve.
